Train travel can be a spectacular way to experience Alberta. From dinner aboard Alberta Prairie Railway’s vintage steam train to the ultra-luxurious service on the Royal Canadian Pacific to everything in between—Alberta railway train service is offered in various pockets of the province.
VIA Rail’s scheduled service stops in Edmonton and Jasper. In the U.S., VIA Rail can be booked through AMTRAK (1.800.872.7245). There are also several passes you can purchase through VIA such as the Canrailpass which allows unlimited travel anywhere on the VIA Rail network for 12 days within a 30-day period. Rocky Mountaineer Vacations offers numerous packages and routes that link Alberta with British Columbia.
