Signature Events
Alberta hosts hundreds of festivals and signature events in all seasons and in all corners of the province, and Alberta North has its fair share of fine entertainment for the whole family.
Getting Started
Alberta North hosts a wide variety of events, festivals and competitions, from sand sculpture contests to jet boat races to music festivals—and some of the most competitive fishing derbies in North America.
New this year, July 2 - 5, is the first annual Sawridge Festival, a succession of musical events celebrating community, family, and summertime fun! Everyone is invited to dance, swim, eat, and play, surrounded by the music of artists such as this year’s JUNO “Artist of the Year”, Sam Roberts, Paul Brandt, Tupelo Honey, Miley Cyrus and many more. Located on one of the most beautiful lakes with white sandy beaches – and just 2.5 hours north of Edmonton – Slave Lake is the perfect spot to hold one of Alberta’s hottest events of the summer.
