Alberta Destinations
If there is one great truth about Alberta, it is surely this: The fastest growing province in Canada is the epicentre of adventure. Look to Alberta’s Rocky Mountain parks — Banff, Jasper, Kananaskis and Waterton — as key gateways for outdoor adventures. Options range from teahouse strolls to guided overnight alpine climbs plus heli-hiking, fly fishing, skiing and horsepack adventures.
And there’s more beyond our peaks. Come down from the mountains and you might find yourself on a dinosaur dig, at an award-winning spa, a cooking school, at one of our five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, on a cattle drive, birdwatching or shopping at the world’s largest mall.
Each of Alberta’s six regions offers unique experiences, waiting to be discovered by you:

With its sun-kissed wheatfields and wind-whipped Canadian badlands, southern Alberta can turn you into a shutter-happy tourist. If its ethereal evening light doesn't seduce you, then its three UNESCO World Heritage Sites just might. Hike or watch wildlife at Waterton Lakes National Park. Canoe, ski, horseback ride, fly-fish or snowmobile...through some of the province's loveliest landscapes.

Calgary & Area
Pulsing with a youthful, entrepreneurial spirit, Calgary booms due to its burgeoning oil and gas industry which has forged its downtown glass and steel cathedrals of commerce. But it's not all about new money. You'll find the 'Heart of the New West' still respects its humble roots — evident at the Calgary Stampede.

Edmonton & Area
It’s only fitting that Alberta’s capital lies in the geographic heart of the province. Noted for its cultural events, Edmonton is also loved for its eclectic neighbourhoods, spectacular river valley, superb museums, vibrant arts scene and its lengthy roster of festivals. That’s why it’s known as The Festival City.
